IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE CANADIAN DENTAL CARE PLAN (CDCP)
At Key Dental Clinic, we fully support access to dental care for all Canadians.
There are a few things however that you should know prior to making an appointment to see us.
1-CDCP is NOT A FREE DENTAL PROGRAM. Our fees are based on British Columbia Suggested Fee Guide. Since the CDCP fee guide is lower than the BC fee guide there will be on average a 15% out of pocket expense on top of the federal Co-payment.
Example:
- Total treatment cost $100 based on BC Suggested Fee Guide
- Maximum CDCP benefits at 100% may be only $85 – Out of pocket expense patient is still responsible for $15
- Maximum CDCP benefits at 80% may be only $68 – Out of pocket expense patient is still responsible for $32
- Maximum CDCP benefits at 60% may be only $51 – Out of pocket expense patient is still responsible for $49
2- Patients’ coverage is updated on July 1, in line with the patient’s tax return from the prior year. It is the Patient’s responsibility to know their coverage level prior to making an appointment.
3- Cancellations within 48 hrs of the appointment may be subject to a $75 fee.
