At Key Dental Clinic, we understand the importance of properly fitted dentures. That’s why we take the time to make the best denture for you.
We will ensure that your dentures are as comfortable and natural looking as possible. While dentures may never replace the aesthetic and the function of healthy natural teeth they do provide an economical way to replace multiple missing teeth.
There are different types of dentures suitable for each different need. Dentures are often made and issued within two weeks of initial visit and may require 2-4 appointments to complete.
Types of Dentures
Conventional Dentures
Removable Partial Dentures
Partial Acrylic Dentures: Acrylic dentures are made entirely of plastic. They are an economical way to replace missing teeth immediately after extraction so that patients never go without teeth; however, they are often bulky, not very strong and therefore not considered as a long-term solution. The cost of acrylic denture ranges from $750-$1000 per arch (upper or lower) depending on the complexity of the treatment. After 6 month, once the extraction sockets have healed, a reline or remake of the denture is often required.
Partial Cobalt-Chrome Denture (Metal dentures): Metal dentures are made from a metal alloy called Cobalt chrome. Cobalt chrome dentures are lighter, stronger and thinner than plastic (acrylic) dentures. They do not corrode or rust. The average life expectancy of metal dentures is about 8-10 years. The cost of Cobalt-Chrome denture ranges from $1200-$1400 per arch.
Immediate Dentures
Complete or Full dentures are designed to replace all missing teeth. They can be inserted immediately after the extraction of hopeless teeth or delayed for 6 month until all the gums and extraction sockets have healed. The advantage of an immediate denture is that you never go without teeth. The disadvantage of immediate denture is that as the gums heal the denture becomes more and more unstable and loose and often requires the aid of denture adhesives to keep them functional. Once the gums and bones have healed a reline or a new denture may need to be done at additional cost. The cost for a new full denture is $1100.
Alternately, to avoid the above problem and allow for better function, an immediate denture implants can be placed at the time of the extraction to provide retention for the new denture.
